Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 2026-05-19

β€œSnagFlow is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle data when you use the SnagFlow browser extension to convert websites into RSS feeds.”

1. Data Collection & Processing

Local-First Processing

All website structure analysis and RSS generation happen locally within your browser. We do not transmit the content of the websites you visit to our servers.

No Subscription Tracking

We do not track which websites you 'snag' or subscribe to. Your subscription list is stored locally on your device or in your private sync storage.

Cloudflare Sync (Optional)

If you enable Cloudflare Workers Sync to access feeds on third-party clients, your locally generated RSS XML is synced directly to your own self-hosted Cloudflare Worker endpoints. We do not host your synced feeds, and this data is never transmitted to us.

2. External Services

RSS Feed Fetching

When you use SnagFlow to preview or update a feed, the extension makes direct requests to the target website. These requests are subject to the target website's privacy policy.

AI Assistance (Optional)

If you enable AI-powered structure recognition, metadata (not the full page content) may be sent to your configured AI provider (e.g., OpenAI) to improve accuracy.

3. Data Security

We do not store your personal data. Any settings or API keys (if applicable) are stored locally and encrypted using standard browser security measures.

4. Permissions Disclosure

activeTab & scripting

To inject the visual wizard engine for clicking and selecting HTML elements dynamically on the active page.

storage

To save your RSS subscription rules, feed caches, and configuration settings locally.

host permissions (<all_urls>)

Necessary to allow you to generate RSS feeds from any website of your choosing.

offscreen

To run distraction-free HTML parsing via the Mercury/Reader engine securely in a background sandboxed tab without freezing your active page.

alarms, tabs, sidePanel & clipboardWrite

To support background scheduled updates, render dynamic Single Page Applications (SPAs) quietly, host the sidebar workspace, and copy feed links easily.
